sleeping in

it's been so preternaturally warm here that spring weight restrictions are being put into place on highways as of jan 23. that is messed up but also somehow great. i know that the warmth is a byproduct of the world being ruined, but there is no denying that my life is better when it is warmer.

i have been trying to fight ozone depletion etc. (walk/not drive, vote ndp, etc...) but how weird is it that i am thoroughly enjoying the benefits of the disaster i'm trying to prevent?

there's this great postal service song that says what i'm trying to say so much more eloquently:

Where everything was exactly how it seemed
No concerns about the world getting warmer
People thought that they were just being rewarded

Now we can swim any day in November
Don't wake me, I plan on sleeping in . . .

will we be swimming in november? i'd love it, but i'll be trying to make sure it doesn't happen. yikes.
