complicated

i just finished reading complicated kindness by miriam toews. i'm also reading a biography of diego rivera. the news freaks me out. the conversations i overhear give me the creeps. i am definitely all religioned out.
i need something that will get me out (i almost said 'deliver me'!) from godland. i grew up there, and i don't ever want to go back where the best part of living comes after you die. what a shitty concept. i want to go somewhere that will remind me of the beautiful truth of being alive. oh cuba! i miss you...

oh, and i am listening to matt mays' new album again. i can't seem to stop. i am addicted. rock and roll.
